Objective To explore the application of portable GC-MS for the assessment of occupational hazards, and provide the basis for expanding its application range.
Methods GC-MS was used to test the occupational hazards in the air of workplace of a coal-burning power plant, a polyurethane adhesive enterprise, and a paint spray booth, etc.
Results We used GC-MS successfully in many ways, such as selecting the site of new industrial enterprises, identifying the occupational hazards and screening the key occupational evaluation factors, etc.
Conclusion Using potable GC-MS is able to quickly analyze organic chemicals in site qualitatively and semiquantitatively, and gives scientific data for occupational hazards evaluation.
