More Information
  • Received Date: April 29, 2012
  • Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are a classification of persistent organic pollutants that were widely used in the last century. Even though the commercial production of PCBs was banned at the end of the 1970 s in many countries worldwide, they continue to be a health concern due to their lipophilic nature, persistence in the environment, and various exposure routes. The reproductive toxicity of PCBs has received considerable world-wide attention in recent years. The article reviewed polychlorinated biphenyl congeners and reproductive toxicity with a focus on dioxin-like PCB and indicator PCB. Discussion and perspectives for future research were also proposed.
