Literature Analysis on Present Status of Occupational Lead Hazards in Lead-acid Battery Manufacture Industry

  • Large amount of lead fume, lead dust, effluent water and solid refuses generated in lead-acid battery manufacture can destroy ecology environments and pose health hazards to human beings. It was reported that there were 1 082 cases of occupational chronic lead and its compound poisoning in China, accounted for 56.59% (1 082/1 912)of all occupational chronic intoxications, and ranked the first place. Occupational lead exposure, hazards and poisoning in lead-acid battery manufacture industry reported during 1980-2009 in medical journals in China were analyzed and its preventions were summarized here.
