Glucose Monitoring Indicators, Glycemic Control Status, and Influencing Factors in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes

  • Although intensive glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes has been associated with the reduction of the risk of complications, the percentage of patients who achieve glycemic control goal is relatively low in most countries. The objectives of this review were to overview current glucose monitoring indicators and the categories and characteristics of glycemic control standards so as to provide reference for personalized glucose control assessment; the situations of domestic and international glycemic control were compared and the determinants of regional discrepancies and trends were summarized. The aim was to provide reference for the governments at all levels and related prevention agencies to make glucose control group goals and specific measures to improve diabetes prevention and control abilities.
