Abstract:
Objective To analyze characteristics of certain occupational diseases registered in Pudong District of Shanghai 2005-2009, in order to provide basis for setting prevention measures.
Methods Data of 192 occupational disease cases(exclude pneumoconiosis and occupational radioactive diseases) diagnosed and reported by the certified occupational diseases diagnosis institutions from 2005 to 2009 were collected and analyzed.
Results The top three kinds of occupational diseases reported in this district were occupational dermatological diseases, occupational acute poisoning and occupational eye diseases, and all the 12 died cases came from the occupational acute poisoning group. They were all within a short working years (0.19 year) while the occupational otolaryngology diseases were with a longer working period (14.59 year). The difference of working year between the different types of occupational disease groups were statistically significant (H=80.86, P < 0.001). The difference of the proportion of working years between the hydrogen sulfide poisoning group and other chemical poisoning were statistically significant also(χ2=4.74, P=0.029).
Conclusion Occupational acute poisoning especially hydrogen sulfide poisoning was the most minatory type of occupational diseases causing severest consequences, and workers less than 1 year were prone to be involved in occupational acute poisoning accident.
