Abstract:
Nicotine in tobacco contributing to smoking addiction as well as the influence of psychological and social factors result in quite low rate of smoking cessation among smokers though the adverse health effects of smoking is propagated widely. Today researchers and practitioners in tobacco control field are paying more attention to improving smoking cessation rate, reducing risk of secondhand-smoking and keeping teenagers far away from tobacco through effective policy development, health promotion, social psychological and behavioral interventions. Key intervention strategies applied to tobacco control in China were reviewed and suggestions on researches in the future were proposed in this paper.
