Abstract:
Objective To develop a rapid and simple high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for determining the migration of melamine extracted by four solvents from melamine-formaldehyde products used as food containers.
Methods Melamine were soaked out by four solvents which were water, 4% acetic acid, 15% ethanol and n-hexane. The four soaks were separated by reversed phase chromatographic column and detected by UV-detector.
Results The analysis method of determining the migration of melamine from melamine-formaldehyde food containers was studied from the aspects of chromatogram and soaking solutions. The detection limit was 10μg/dm2. The linear range was between 0.050μg/mL and 2.000μg/mL. The recovery was controlled between 85.7% and 105.7%. The relative standard deviation was between 0.43% and 4.80%.
Conclusion This method was rapid, effective, stabilize and sensitive for detecting the migration of melamine from melamine-formaldehyde products used as food containers.
