Abstract:
Objective To understand the personal dose received by radiation workers in an iron and steel enterprise, and to improve radiation protective measures, guarantee workers' health, and promote enterprise development.
Methods In an iro n and steel enterprise, 87 radiation workers from control and supervision areas of 5 radiation source involved units were selected as monitoring subjects. Thermoluminescent dosimeter was used to monitor and analyze external radiation dose.
Results The average personal radiation dose was 0.444 mSv. The range of annual dose was from 0.568 mSv to 6.130 mSv, and annual radiation doses in 87.5% subjects were less than 2 mSv. The collective dose was 151.41 person& #183; mSv.
Conclusion The personal doses of the radiation workers selected are lower than the national limit. Though proper radiation protection measures are adopted, it is necessary to strengthen personal dose management in further.
