Abstract:
[Objective] To assess the personal dosage level of external exposure for radiation workers in Jinhua.
[Methods] Thermoluminescence dosimetry was applied to measure the personal external radiation dosage of workers exposed to radiation in Jinhua during 2008-2011.
[Results] Totally 799 radiation workers were monitored from 2008 to 2011. The collective annual dosage equivalent was 854.70 man mSv and the average annual effective dosage was 1.07 mSv/a. The workers receiving annual dosage equivalent less than 5 mSv accounted for 98.12%. The average annual individual effective dosage was higher in the interventional radiology workers than in other work types, and the numbers of interventional radiology workers monitored increased every year.
[Conclusion] Most of the radiation workers in Jinhua city are safe in the working conditions according to the related national standards. The interventional radiology workers should be a key population for radiation prevention.
