Abstract:
Objective To understand voluntary contentment with life quality of civil servants and study related factors
Methods A set of questionnaires included self-designed scale for general information and the Chinese version of WHO Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) and was delivered to 809 civil servants randomly selected from Urumqi.
Results The mean value of contentment with life quality of Urumqi civil servants was 3.07. The mean value of contentment with health status quo was 2.92. Both indices were moderately leveled. The average values of contentment in 14 out of 24 surveyed items, including action capacity and working ability, were higher than 3. The contentment with economic conditions ranked at the bottom.
Conclusion Higher degrees of contentment were found in physiological and psychological aspects and social relations among the 24 surveyed items. Their contentment with environment was generally lower. Age, income and education show significant impacts on the degree of contentment with quality of life.
