Abstract:
Objective To surey the situation of keeping multi sexual partners and having high risk sexual behaviors among men who have sex with men (MSM), and to provide evidence for effective intervention among them.
Methods A cross sectional anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted in Songjiang District for 150 MSM who were enrolled by snowball sampling method. Data were analyzed by SPSS 18.0.
Results The average age of the subjects was (29.3& #177;9.2) years. The average age of first sexual intercourse with a man was (21.7& #177;4.9) years. The average number of sexual partners in past 6 months was 3.0& #177;4.1, and the main places for MSM to find them were internet (80.2%), gay bars (20.8%), bathhouses/sauna centers (14.6%) and so on. Among the MSM studied, 54.7% had regular male sexual partners and the condom use rate was low; 75.3% ever had an anti-HIV test with an average frequency of (2.8& #177;3.0) times in past 2 years.
Conclusion There is a great possibility to get HIV infection highly prevailing among MSM and cause spreading in general population, thus enhancing the intervention for AIDS control and prevention among MSM is an urgent requirement.
