Abstract:
Standard for Occupational Hazard Control in Shipbuilding Industry, a Shanghai local standard, was established according to
Law of the People's Republic of China on Prevention and Control of Occupational Diseases and its affiliated regulations and rules, as well as related domestic and international materials. The severity and possibility of workers' health impact by occupational hazards and conditions in shipbuilding industry were also taken into consideration. Risk assessments of occupational hazards in workplaces were carried out by the following steps:(1)identification of hazardous factors;(2)division of operating units;(3)survey on operating conditions including engineering protection and individual protection measures;(4)adoption of appropriate control measures. The standard stipulated requirements for basic occupational health management, prevention and control measures against occupational hazards, and assessment for emergency rescue and occupational disease prevention and control in shipbuilding industry, providing principles for the standardized management and the prevention and control of occupational diseases in shipbuilding industry.
