Effect of Oily Wastewater Treatment in Shanghai Railway Depot

  • Objective To evaluate effectiveness of the oily wastewater treatment process with swash plate grease seal and flotation and provide suggestions for wastewater treatment routine maintenance and management.

Methods The routine monitoring indicators including chemical oxygen demand (COD), oil, pH, and suspended solid (SS) of the wastewater in Shanghai railway depot before and after the treatment launching were used for comparison and correlation analysis using SPSS software.

Results All the four indicators were statistically improved after the treatment. Before the treatment, the oil indicator was positively correlated with the other three indicators, and the COD and the pH were also positively correlated. After the treatment, the pH and the SS presented a positive correlation.

Conclusion The treatment system basically meets the requirement of oily wastewater treatment.
