Iodine and human health

  • 摘要: 碘是人体必需的微量元素之一,是合成甲状腺激素的重要原料,长期缺碘可导致碘缺乏病。本文介绍了食盐加碘的背景、碘对健康的影响及其评价标准等,目前我国居民碘营养状况总体处于适宜水平,产生碘缺乏和过量的风险较小。

     

    Abstract: Iodine is an essential microelement and a key component of thyroid hormone. A long period of lacking iodine may cause iodine deficiency disorders. This review introduced the background of universal salt iodization, the effects of iodine on human health, and related evaluation criteria. At present, the iodine nutrition of Chinese residents is on an appropriate level, and the risks of both iodine deficiency and excess are relatively low.
