Abstract:
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) play an increasingly important role in state governance and social service. There has been a dramatic declining tendency in workplace injuries and fatalities since the
Occupational Safety and Health Act was passed in the United States. The NGOs such as international organizations, labor unions, professional organizations, industrial associations, and clinics of medical school have made significant contributions to occupational safety and health in the United States. They have preferential tax, various sources of financial support, and independent management. They dedicate to strengthening scientific research on occupational safety and health, fostering talent, providing technical support, promoting standardized governance, advocating for legislation, and take the leading role to improve occupational safety and health.
