Abstract: The concept of self-efficacy is gaining extensive awareness and recognition as a propelling potency for sustainable health and safety in the workplace. The review introduced the four sources of self-efficacy and provided a research progress on the relationship of increasing self-efficacy and promotion of occupational health and safety through identified studies using self-efficacy construct as an intervening parameter in enhancing occupational health programs and workers self-confidence. Also, the methods in the researches were presented to afford some referential experiences. Conclusively, suggestions for future research on the concept of self-efficacy and health and safety in the workplace that affect career development should combine the multiple sources of selfefficacy.
